Shall I Start Blogging Today ?

To read my other blog click this link: its me!!! Sharan :)

YOU MAY BE wondering why I have started this blog, if I do have one already. Well the answer to this question is very simple. I will be blogging on this blog too. Okay, now seriously. Do you people know about this site: DailyPost. I came across this site few months back. It is one of the most useful site, if you are into blogging and its importance increases for those people who want to blog but still have not started. I had registered a Blogger account about two years ago, as I remember. But I never wrote the first post, except hello world (now I have deleted that site). Then in August 2010 I signed up for Wordpress (because my bro suggested to switch to Wordpress). But the first and the important take off that I took came in November, in fact November last. Why?

I GUESS YOU all know, the toughest job that a blogger can face is, what should be the topic? About what one should write so that people, at least 5-10 will take interest in reading one’s works? I mean, if you don’t write because you want it to be read by people out there in the world, then just maintain a diary. Isn’t it? So, how to decide a fair topic? Fair in the sense that it should make a sense. I mean you cannot blog about American Soccer or Baseball or something that is not popular. I have thought many times about writing about football, English Premier League, but I did not because no one (as per my knowledge, you may be exception) will be interested what is happening out there in Old Trafford or Stamford Bridge or White Hart Lane. It does not make any sense.

I THINK YOU getting what this blog is all about. The keyword for this post is topic or title of the post. Sometimes I feel sorry for myself that I did not search about blogs thoroughly in those gaps (Aug-Nov). If I would have come across this website: DailyPost, then my post count would have reached 300+. So, you have the opportunity, if you are blogger and you find it difficult to decide about a topic. And most importantly if you have not started just because you can’t think of at least 5 topics about which you are going to blog. Now when I think about this, I realize, that was the dumbest thing I had ever thought, and you are in the same category if you are thinking that. So, don’t waste your time and just follow these lines. Now I am going to write precisely what this DailyPost is.

HOSTED BY WORDPRESS, this website posts a topic each day. All you need to do is that, read that topic carefully, if you know fair enough about it, just blog about it. Otherwise if you do not have ideas about that topic, Google it, or read relevant hint-post, you will find some useful tips. And still if you don’t get what you should write, just skip that topic. Now you have three options. Option one: chose from the archives that means previous topics, option two: write yourself, about anything and option three wait for next topic i.e. next day. All you need to do is, after writing this post, add a tag postaday2011 (currently for 2011). And most importantly, if you start writing by taking topic from that site there is not compulsion that you must take next topic from that site only. It is just for help. You can write whatever and whenever you want.

WANT TO KNOW why exactly you should do this? I will tell you one real life live example. After writing more than 100 posts I am switching to this dailypost, you have the opportunity to start from where I have come after about a year.

  2. hmm! I read it now and I keep a tab on dailypost :)but nothing hit me hard enough to get inspired, as yet....

But it is a good place to hunt and read what people think about certain issues....such as...a sandwich :) yeah they had a topic on sandwich ...mostly daily post has very american topics... :-/

  3. @chintan.. No I mean, if you dont like the idea, you can just derive from that one..Its just for getting an idea, there is no competition in which you are bound to write on given topics..
If they ask to write about George Washington, write about Dr. Rajendra Prasad, this way it will be helpful in increasing general knowledge too..
hmm.. i need to write part two of this post, with clear instructions :)
